I wrote the following paragraphs a long time ago, and they probably need to be updated. I don't know if I'll ever get around to doing that, so I guess I'll just leave them as they are for now...

I make art out of whatever I have whenever I feel like it. I mostly draw with a mechanical pencil and colored pencils, but I also make art out of clay, paper, tinfoil, or whatever I have in order to make what I want.

Some of my philosophies on art...

Though I have to do it quite often in art classes, I don't really like to draw still life's, or anything that I can see for that matter. Drawing from observation is a fine ability and all, but in my opinion, and I think most would agree, it is much easier to draw something well from observation than it is to draw something well from imagination. Therefore, if I am to strive to be the best, drawing from imagination is how I must do it. I try to never look at anything while I draw, though sometimes I do unfortunately have to pose and try to see how the body would be in a position.

Furthermore, with the invention of photography, I see little point in drawing something that I can see in front of me. I know that I will never be able to draw anything anywhere near as efficiently as a camera can reproduce it. Notice I did say "efficiently" not "well". I do believe perhaps it is possible to draw something better than one sees it, but with the amount of time it would take, I think I would rather just take a picture and draw something else.

With these things in mind, I come to the reason I make art: to bring that which does not exist into existence. I aim to make that mass-produced, purchasable paper, or whatever material, into something better, something unique, and I aim to be the best at it.
